Headshot Tips #8: Taking referrals from agents and personal managers

Should you use a photographer that your agent, manager, or acting teacher recommended? My advice in these situations is to use your own personal taste and judgement. Your headshots are a representation of you, and the direction that you'd like your career to head. If someone recommends a photographer, and you think it's a perfect fit, then great! But it's always a huge mistake to shoot with a photographer based soley on the direction of an agent, manager, or other industry professional. I've seen awful headshots come from photographers that notable agents, managers, and casting directors have strongly recommended, so use your judgement, Always make the choice for yourself, and not to appease someone else.
